I’m working on modifying the DW Fixel theme, version 1.0.7, using the Customize Panel and I’m unable to change the site logo and favicon in the Site Title & Tagline section. I’ve tried multiple file types to upload a new image but it doesn’t take or acknowledge the upload. I was able to remove the image, which now prevents me from selecting the default again. I then tried to replace the image by FTP, but without change. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the theme.
I saw another post regarding the same issue for another theme, and the main.css file had to be replaced.

Regarding the issue about uploading logo image.
I think that the issue is caused by selecting wrong chmod setting (permission setting) for the upload folder when uploading an image.
To fix this issue, you need to reset the chmod for the folder to 755 & file to 644 by :
– Use your FTP account
– Right click to your image folder ((public_html > wp-content >  uploads ) select file permissions
– Change the Numberic value to 755, see below screenshot:

Hope this helps !

Curiously I don’t have an upload folder in the wp-content folder for my WordPress install. I created it, and set the permissions but I’m still unable to upload images. Can you advise any other changes?

I have checked on your FTP and I can not change the permission.

This is something that your web host will have to help you with. Because the permissions have been removed from the file they will have to log in as the root user to be able to set the correct permissions again.
Also, check the rest of the files on the site and see if their permissions have changed. Hopefully they haven’t but it’s better to check at the same time.
Hope this helps !
