Can I update to a newer version of WordPress?

Hi I installed the WordPress as per your YouTube video and it works. So great!

Just wanted to know if I can update to a newer version of WordPress, without breaking the theme. I’m new to WordPress, I assume I can just press some upgrade button, like for the plug ins. Can I upgrade without losing content or reinstalling the DW Page theme?
