Excerpts don't seem to be working right

Hi, I have been testing the dw-focus theme at  Every post at that site does not have a "more" inserted into the posts.

When I tried implementing the theme to, their is a "more" inserted in every post.  Some posts have them removed.  Yet a video still appears on the homepage’s excerpt.

I’ve tried to make every setting the same between the sites, but no joy.

My goal is to have h homepage look like – Just the featured image with a paragraph next to it.  No youtube player in the excerpt.
