on that note – instagram on the homepage is a hit or miss – it either works or doesn’t work when i load – if i change the background color it works for a little
my goals are to:
1. have instagram feed load all the time
2. have my featured posts only show up on the homepage
3. what is the + for on the header??

1. I have just checked your site at http://alinabalean.com, the Instagram block and the background color seemed to be working fine. Can you check it again, and if the problem persists, please send us a screenshot about the problem & the admin account of you site (via private answer) so that we can check it for you.
2. Currently, the theme only supports featured posts on blog page, not on the social-wall page. You can see the demo of featured post on the blog page here: http://demo.designwall.com/dw-fixel/?cat=5

Also, if you don’t want to use this feature, you can remove the plus icon by adding the code below to Dashboard / Appearances / Customize / Custom Code / Header code:
