How do I disable private questions but allow private answers?

I hate users asking private questions, but they have some details they don’t like to share – like their website URL. Also, they may wish to share username/password with me for support. So I want private answers, but not private questions.

Yeah that’s not what I asked. I’m asking: How do I disable private questions but keep private answers as an option?

I want users to ask all questions publicly, but they need to be able to submit private answers.

Hi wpintense,

Thanks for your reply.

You can go to Dashboard > Questions > Settings and uncheck the option “Allow members to post private question.” This option will disable the private question except the private answer.

Ah right – cool – that’s great – it wasn’t clear because there isn’t also an option to disable private answers, so I presumed the ‘disable private question’ was disabling both.
