I have checked DWQA counter on our demo and It still works fine.
We put the counter code on “dwqa_before_page” action hook. Did you overwrite the single template? There could be a change that this hook was lost.
If you have not touched anything with dwqa templates, can you give me an admin account to check our plugin on your host. (please submit a private question with your credential info)

BigHugIn the ask question page, you can see a check box “I want this question is private. ” under the question details field (textarea).
