User cannot view private question they asked

Hi, I have a question that is marked as private. Everytime I try to view it, it sends me to a 404 page unless I remove the privacy. I have logged in to the account that created the question and it still shows the 404.
This doesn’t seem to be happening to all users.

Is there somewhere I should start looking? All roles have permission to view posts in the permissions section.

I have checked on our demo site and see that the plugin still works fine. Please send me the username & password of your site for further checking.
