The anonymous feature for asking is still not able to be checked on my version of the plugin. What I do not understand is why? I could understand the technical issues with it, but the responses I’ve seen so far have indicated that people thought it would be a bad idea in their particular instance. In my case, I think it would actually produce better discussion as some of the people asking these questions would actually like to do it anonymously.

Dear @elninodiablo
I can understand your reasoning 🙂
However please do note that the plugin does not make it mandatory for users to actually get their accounts verified, which means if someone wants to post a question using fake/anonymous details, they can still do it.
However, for better spam control and preventing bots from posting automatic spam, I would still think that its better to have users register. Just my understanding. If you have a better answer, please share.

I understand the reason for not wanting it. What I still just don’t get, is why have the feature isn’t an option, particularly when anonymous answer (something that would be more problematic from my point of view) is allowed. It just seems like having the choice for those that have installed the plugin would make more sense? Or is there some technical thing I am missing.

It should go on the to do list then.

I’m jumping on this band wagon. Cleaning up fake/anonymous accounts just adds more work on the admin side – especially when no other accounts are allowed on some sites except the authors. We’re not selling anything on our site – thus why would I want someone to create an account? 🙁 Hoping you allow anonymous questions with captcha ultimately letting us decide what’s best for our sites.

Hey guys, @elninodiablo @welswebmaster @guruji, We have a development version on github https://github.com/designwall/dw-question-answer that was added Anonymous Question Post Feature into this. We will release this version soon. If you want to use it first, you can download from github and install in your wordpress site.

BigHug, Thanks for your work! Would the download from github be an update to our existing plugin, or would we need to uninstall our existing DW QA install and start fresh? Thanks for your help.

Yes, please download the zip file from Github. Note that this is development version only so feel free to let us know if you meet any bug.

@BigHug, Do we need to un-install our current version, or is this an update?

you only need to extract the zip file and replace the current DW QA plugin. Please note that this is the development version and there might be bugs. You can wait till we release an offical version to use that feature.
