Hi Kevin,
I believe not only our themes, but most of WordPress themes are SEO friendly.
Besides, you can use the WordPress SEO plugin to enhance the SEO part of your site. Please find the plugin here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/

Thanks! I downloaded the SEO Plugin By Yoast and it works great. I was just curious if the backend code that I haven’t really dug into yet was optimized.

Regarding to the code, we have used microformat to write the code. Of course, it is optimized and good for SEO. However, you should still use SEO plugins to enhance the SEO part of your site. One of a typical plugin is SEO by Yoast, you can try to use it in order to optimize your site.
