Chad Stembridge How do you insert a regular WordPress gallery into a portfolio project? I’ve tried both regular WordPress shortcode, and Gallery Plugin shortcode.

Dominic To insert a normal WP Gallery into project page, please do as the following:
Step1: Log in to Dashboard > Pages > My Work page, you need to click on the Add Media button.

Step2: This will open the WordPress media uploader.
Now you need to click on Create Gallery link that you see on the left side of the screen.
To add images to the gallery: you can either upload the images from your computer or choose existing images from your media library (images that you have previously uploaded to your site).
Then select the images you want by clicking on them. This will add a checked mark that you see on each image in the screenshot below.
But Our DW Page does not yet support to click a image then view this image on the site. You nee to select the “Link to” section for all the image is “None”.

Step3: Clicking on Insert Gallery button will close the media uploader and insert the gallery code inside your WordPress post.
If you are using the Visual Editor then you will see a box in post edit area indicating that there is gallery code.

The steps you’ve written out are what I’ve been trying; tried again just now, and it’s still not working. I’m also not able to embed a flickr gallery shortcode (from the Flickr Photostream plugin). The frontend only shows the shortcode.

I have checked your site, If you want to use the Galleries plugin to add Gallery in the My Work page. Please do as the following:
Step 1: Log in to Dashboard > Galleries > Add a new Gallery.
Step2: Scroll down under content frame > press Upload a file, select your image. See the screenshot: 
When already click the public.
Step3: To display in the pages, You can copy the shortcode in the Gallery Shortcode on the right hand. See the screenshot: 
Step4: Paste the Gallery Short code into the My Work page. See the screenshot:
