Premature end of script headers: index.php

Hello, I get the following error from time to time:

Premature end of script headers: index.php

Afterwards only the home side reach. Only a restart of the server or backup brings everything to run again.

Why is that? My provider says it is then the theme. Since the site is already online, I would appreciate a quick response and solution.
