Could not install the theme because of missing file.

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Am I doing something wrong. I get this error when I attempt to install the template into WordPress 3.5.1 on a hosted Linux account at GoDaddy.com.

Thank you for the video. Unfortunately, most people probably do not have apache running on their Windows laptop to maintain their website. Is there a video for installing your themes in a hosted WordPress environments? I was able to find the proper theme file and install it, but now I want all of the sample pages/posts/menus/etc..

I appreciate your offer to help me install, but I cannot seem to find your email address to send my url, username, and password.

I am not a web developer and am brand new to WordPress, but I am a database developer, so if you provide me with instructions for how to install the theme in a hosted environment then I likrly can accomplish it.

The two points I am stuck on are:

1) inserting your sample content into MySQL, and
2) getting everything to display like it does in the live preview of the template

step1. If you want to insert your sample content into MySQL, you can create in PhpMyAdmin.

You fill in the (…) with the data from your database.

 

define('DB_NAME', '...');

/** MySQL database username */

define('DB_USER', '...');

/** MySQL database password */

define('DB_PASSWORD', '...');

?

/** MySQL hostname */

define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');

step 2. Import file SQL in folder quickstart/sql/sample_data.sql on your MySQL

step 3. use search tool, “Search and Replace Tool” to changed URL in Database match with URL database your site

Wondering if the style.css issue was resolved. If so, how? Having the same problem myself. Also using GoDaddy and have no previous WordPress experience.
