Hello Dominic, I created a simple article in DW Focus (http://www.ilmondodipavia.it/?p=4394) and I tried to share the post with Facebook using the built-in sharing button. The procedure works fine, but I got this result:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ihcgvyo4ink43cb/Screenshot%202014-02-05%2021.58.15.png
As you can see, the system gets one of the ads as an image and the title of the post is “Page not found” (in italian in the pic above).
Any idea on how to correct this issue?
Thanks a lot
R.

Hi Roberta !
Currently, The Yop Poll Plugin does not yet support to share in the faceboock.

Hello Dominic, the problem is not due to the plugin. In fact, the same things happens when I try to share a normal article. I think this issue belongs to the theme.

Hi Roberta !
I have checked your site, When i Disattivare the Yop Poll Plugin and share the post on the facebook and it is working very well. Current version of the plugin does not support this.

Dear Dominic, I deactivated the plugin as you suggested and here’s the result:

I’m still having the problem with the Facebook sharing feature.
Your example is wrong! The article title is correct, but the picture belongs to another article! Can you help us?
Thank you
rob

Hello Dominic,
thanks as always for speed in responding. But the problem is not solved. I tried now: as an image is inserted into the advertising that appears in the header and the articles always get the error "page not found …"
The test has now been carried out, for example, on this article

Hello Dominic,
I may have discovered something that may help you figure out how to fix the error.
The error occurs randomly, not always.
Now I tried it with several articles and a few times on the Facebook link appears correctly and with the right image, in other cases it returns the error page not found as described above.
The readers of the magazine I was “scolded” several times šŸ™ (
Help me please please please.
:flower: for you

Hi Roberta,Ā
Sometimes, Facebook save cache of links, so after change in your website, please make sure that you use Open Graph Debug tool to resolve cache issue:

Hello Jackie, unfortunately I don’t have idea of what you’re talking about… but I noted that on iPhone sometimes (and i say sometimes) I can share the articles correctly. Why?

Jackie Lord
replied 10 years ago

Because facebook has been cached your URL’s content (Open Graph data).

Dear Sirs, my client is complaining so much about this problem and I understand that. It seems that some of your themes share the same problem about Facebook sharing. Can you help me to solve this problem? It’s really important. Right now all the suggestions I had are not working to solfe the issue.
Thanks
rob

Hi Roberta,
The problem is not bug of the theme. It is caused by Facebook that caches your URL automatically. Please follow the link I have shared to debug it. This is not a rare case and you can search for it in the internet.

Hi Roberta !
To resolve this issue please remove the open graph tags in the site. Please open the function.php file, remove code Ā from line 474 toĀ  line 496.
See the screenshot:
Hope this helps !

Hi Dominic!
I have forwarded your response to my friend “globetrotter”. I hope to see her as soon as possible and try to change the code. As soon as I know something you upgrade. Thanks!

Hi Dominic, I love you!
My “globetrotter” friend, Furio, finally came back home. We tried to delete the code from functions.php file and now it seems the Facebook sharing button is working. At the moment we tested the sharing with about 10 articles, but we will go on testing. Thank you!

Hi Dominic,
searchin on internet I found this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8626812/how-to-recognize-facebook-user-agent

My understanding is that the error is raised when there’s a call to fb bot (useragent), is that right? Can’t figure out what to do to solve the problem…
Can you help me please?
Furio

Please try to disable: Count per day plugin

Roberta

Hello Jackie Lord.
I try, but the error persists.
Also send you a new screen "syntax" error trying to share via the page of an event:
http://cmspioneer.com/designwall/question/focus-and-plugin-all-in-one-event-calendar-or-another-plugin-for-events/).
Thank you for your patience.

Hi Roberta, we checked your site at this link http://www.ilmondodipavia.it/?p=7841, and the facebook sharing feature works well. Did we miss anything?

Roberta
replied 10 years ago

Hello BigHug
The error is random.
My friend Furio wrote to the support of Facebook, but has not yet received a reply about it. The only evidence that I’m doing (not knowing programming) is to not generate more previews of the articles (tip found on the web). Lately I’m not creating, and it seems to work, but one of the next articles I will create the insert preview before publication. If the error occurs I will take the item and I will create one without generating the preview. Let’s see what happens …
Thank you all for your patience …

Greetings to Dominic, Jackie Lord and BigHug.
I did a test with three articles.
Before publishing them on the site I’ve shown with the preview, the problem manifests itself.
Other articles published directly, do not have the problem (I have not checked at all, but I seem to have a good clue).
If you too have a response to that, let me know please.
Thank you again,
rob
