Gabriel MOn the demo for DW Focus I see what looks like a widget labeled “Related Posts” with 3 articles, and this widget is located directly below articles on single posts. How do I add this same widget? I could not find it at all.

To display the posts in the Related Posts section, the theme will find the tags of the current post that you have just read, compare those with all posts of your site then select the posts with the tags which are similar to the current post. Therefore, the posts of the related posts section will have the same tags.
Go to Dashboard >> Posts >> Add New, add tags to your post.
