I can't get the menu to stick

I am starting to built a site for a new business at http://cbdnews.com.au/
I have created a menu but can’t get it to display. It appears there are areas in which it can be selected at the main (and sole) menu. These are in a check box under the menu itself; in the “manage locations” section and also in the customise / navigation area. In all cases, I can select (and in the case of the customise / navigation area it actually previews correctly) but, when viewed live, there is no menu. When I return to each of these areas, the menu is no longer selected.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks Dominic. What did you change?
And, can I also ask you to look at the site in Chrome (we are looking from a Mac). The images don’t display. The slider works, but it has no images. The ad at the top of the page also does not display.
