Mentiones not working (Buddypress)

Hi there,
I’ve purchased the Pro plugin via codecanyon, everything is working okay except the user mentions in responses. It tries to load but is not picking up the users (see below image)
Is there anything else that needs to be added for this to work correctly?
I am using buddypress latest version,

I have checked your site and see that the mention user feature still works fine.

thank you, it seems that it needs more than 3 characters to pick it up, is that how it is supposed to work?

At the moment, you should try to type more than 3 characters to pick it up
