Modify leaderboard widget

Hi!
 
Is there any way to modify the leaderboard widget so that it doesn’t get overwritten when plugin is updated? I have a custom user profile link different than the plugin’s. I’ve modified the corresponding templates for question, archive, etc. But as the leaderboard widget is in the ‘inc/widgets’ folder, I don’t know if there’s a way to have a template from my theme for that.
