sample-data folder missing from DW Focus 1.2.3 through 1.2.6

I like the idea that the dw_quickstart_package is no longer necessary with the latest versions of DW Focus. However; per the instruction below, I am unable to find the sample-data folder with the XML files which can be used to populate the "demo content with posts and pages." Are these files still necessary or is there a newer approach for doing it?
