We have admired DW for a long time and are ready to switch and jump ‘all in’ on their products. However, it is critical for us to change the “Trending Now” module in the FOCUS theme to reflect links/posts that are manually set to appear (for ‘Breaking News’ items). We do not want this module to automatically display links based upon views or comments, etc.

Can we modify the theme to accomplish this? …and will it require a significant amount of code?

Thank you!

Thank for your interesting in our theme. In your case, you can let me know detail about your change for the Trending Now (DW News sticker widget). we will discuss about it.

Sorry, I somehow missed your response.

We love DesignWall and want to jump in fully to the DesignWall ecosystem of products. However, there is one obstacle. We need to have some control over what appears as a ‘Trending’ post in the ticker. For example, if we can check a box to add the post to the ticker (or not), that would solve the problem. ANY WAY that we can CHOOSE which posts appear in the ticker (or don’t) will fix this issue for us.

From our experience visiting sites that currently use this theme, the ticker as designed serves little purpose as the ticker content matches the posts that appear below it. Thus it is redundant. We need to highlight posts in the ticker that may not be the most current on our site.

We don’t mind doing a little coding if we know what we have to do to make this change. Once we know we can do this, we’re all in on DesignWall.

Thank you very much!

…if a check box is not feasible, then perhaps creating a special ‘class’ for a post that we want to appear in the ticker (or that shouldn’t)’would be an option to accomplish the same goal. …or tag, or other post element?

Thanks again!

I think you are using the older version of the DW Focus, We have updated and released the latest version 1.3.2 and in the latest version, you can use the DW News Sticker widget to display post and you can select the post in a categories or Tags. The plugin does not support to create a option select the post that you want to display on the trending.

Dominic,

Hello again. We just returned and are now ready to begin putting together our sites. However, we did not realize that your special pricing ($99 developer package) was temporary and would no longer be available when we returned. Do you know when you will offer this again (as we will need to wait until you do…$199 is out of our budget at this time).

Thank you!

…sorry, in addition to the question I posed above above, do any of your themes come with sample/dummy content to work with initially?  Not a problem if they don’t, I simply find it useful sometimes when working with unfamiliar themes.
Thanks again!

Thank for your interesting in our product. Currently, we do not provide a coupon code to help you buy the developer package with $99. About last question, All the themes from designwall included the install content demo in the theme setting, you can use it to import the content to look like our demo.
