Example using categories for the development of my project:
Parent category: Food
Sub-categories using the 5 food groups as an example: breads, cereals, rice, pasta, noodles and other grains – vegetables and legumes – fruit – milk, yogurt, cheese and/or alternatives – lean meat, fish, poultry, eggs, nuts and legumes.
Each individual element of the sub-categories contributes to the hierarchy.
Example – First Food Group (1): breads as a sub-sub-category with a sub-sub-sub-category for each grain used for making bread and a sub-sub-sub-sub-category for planting, harvesting, and storing the grain and a sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-category for grain hybrids sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-category grain combinations
Example – Second Food Group (2): fruits as a sub-sub-category with a sub-sub-sub-category for each fruit and a sub-sub-sub-sub-category for each of the fruit hybrids.
This is an extremely small illustration of my endeavor which may or may not include food as one of the thousands of parent categories.
All of the parent categories would be listed on many pages with each of the parent categories linking to a page or pages listing the sub-sub-categories (continuing through many sub levels).
Users should be able to subscribe to a feed that provides a snippet or short excerpt of questions and or answers of all categories followed.
What role(s) can taxonomies play in the development of my project?
Thank you for your deliberations on my proposal, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Btw: I realize that the purchasing of Pro will be necessary it my goal(s) are possible.

Thank you for your response Dominic:

Your brevity is disappointing since you didn’t note any of this plugin’s limitations however I’m still considering the purchase of DWQA Pro as a precursor or preliminary stage for my project.

With the purchase of Pro will I be able to change the wording/branding of “DWQA Ask Question” and, in my use, the page for the category would be the category for the asked question so I would want to remove/hide the category selector from the question or to have it automatically filled with the current category.

Would this be reasonably possible?

Thanks,

Greg

Yes, you can change wording/branding of “DWQA Ask Question” in the DW Q&A plugin. However, you can make the plugin automatically filled with the current category as you mentioned here. If you want to hide this section, I can help you resolve it.
