The BuddyPress integration is pretty good, however, we were wondering if there as any known way to add support for the @mention autosuggest. When people are asking questions and giving answer, I’m finding that they are wanting to use the BP @mentions in both but they don’t have the autosuggest to help with the username.
Is there anyway to add this? Is there a code snippet that could be used to add this support?
I know what you want. At the moment, our plugin does not support to do it. Currently, we don’t try using the DW Q&A plugin with BuddyPress yet, therefore, it is hard for me to confirm that it can be compatible with DW Q&A or not. I sent and notified our technical team about the @mention autosuggest. We will check and let you know as soon as possible.
Okay, I’ll monitor this thread to see if the techs are able to come up with something. Thank you!
I should note, that you guys do offer some integration stuff for BuddyPress in the documentation. Even though it is old, it still works and I’ve used it to great effect. This sort of thing might even add another nice element to it.
@dominic It has been a while since I originally brought this up and the Q&A plugin has changed a lot since then. Has there been any movement on the possibility of creating some method to support @mentions in the plugin, or at least as an add-on snippet as part of your BP integration in the documentation here: https://www.designwall.com/guide/dw-question-answer-plugin/buddypress-integration/ Even if it isn’t supported by default, if you found a way and published it through the documentation, those of use who use DWQA with BP can implement it.
I’m curious how it works here (in the post I just did), but it doesn’t work on my installation. Can you share your method?
@dominic please respond
