DW Focus looks gorgeous on laptop, but it seems that while it responds nicely on tablets and cellphones in terms of layout, some IMAGES (though not all, weird) on the other hand are still NOT retina ready but rendered in VERY low resolution. For example, the widget “DW Focus: Recent News” allows us to choose between large, medium and thumbnail sizes, but not “DW Focus: Category”. We all know that mobile traffic is already taking over, and a good responsive design is why I picked DW Focus in the first place. So e.g. viewing a category archive page on a mobile device, when the thumbnail of the second or third post is brutally stretched to the same size as the larger image of the first, it looks really amateur. Will there be a fix (to this otherwise perfect WordPress theme)? Thanks.

I understand what you want for your site. However, unfortunately, our theme doesn’t support Retina and that’s hard for me to let you know when we will start it in the future. Really sorry, my friend.

Thanks for the reply, Dominic. I asked because DW Jason is retina ready, so I thought DW might update their other themes (esp. when they are already fully responsive). It’s a pity because otherwise DW Focus could go a long way.

Oh by the way, for those who are curious, there ARE WordPress plugins out there that help “upscale” your images to be retina ready. WP Retina 2x for example, uses retina.js to do the job. Perhaps DW Team could look into the possibility of incorporating that javascript in future updates?

Thank you very much for your useful feedback. We will discuss this in the upcoming version of the theme.
