I installed WordPress 4.0 on Cpanel and have a site up and running. When I try and upload SW Trendy I get the error “Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2014/11. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
I tried uploading another theme and got the same problem. I checked my Cpanel installation and found there wasn’t a wp-content/uploads/2014/11 directory, so created one and tried to upload again. This time I got a “The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2014/11.”
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ks

I fixed the issue by creating a theme folder called dwtrendy under the folder wp-content and uploading the theme directly on to Cpanel. Not sure of the problem above, but found a work around.

However, any content I try to upload get the massage “The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2014/11.” So back to finding a fix for the problem.
