How do I edit and save the theme files written in php?

Hello,
I’m trying to create a child theme for DWQA Free because I want to edit some php files.
I’ve found a “How to” but it’s for the Pro version. Can you explain me how can to this with the free version ?

How to customize templates from dwqa pro ? (widgets, popular questions, …)

If you want to custom the DW QA plugin, you can create a dwqa-templates folder in your theme or child theme folder then copy the files in the templates folder of the plugin and paste into the dwqa-templates folder to edit it.
