Thank you! Now, does that plugin replace the default search engine? I would like to be able to have the results display only post title versus full posts and pictures. Thanks!

Yes the search is even enhanced and yes you can do that stuff from the plugin settings 🙂

Thank you so much for your help! I installed the ajaxy plugin but it didn’t seem to work — I don’t think the dw minion theme (is that the one you are using?) is compatible. I may be wrong — these things confuse me — but I installed the plugin and tried to make only post titles (vs whole posts) appear in the results section, and it didn’t work. But I’ll keep trying! Thank you for your help!

ok did you read all the faq installation and other section on the plugin page for setting it properly ,i will be writing and releasing a post on this topic today on my site brainlubricator.com may be you can read it from there and then try to implement the stuff easily you can check the post after few hours cos as far as i know the plugin is independent of the themes you are using.Mean while u can drop a widget on you sidebar from dashboard>>appearance>>widget>>ajaxy serch widget may be this helps you temporarily

OK, I will try this! I did drop the widget into my sidebar to see if that worked better, but for some reason it still was displaying whole posts instead of just post titles in the results section. Alas, I will check out your blog post today. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for all of your help! For some reason, I still can’t get it to work 🙁

I would be interested in hiring your services or anyone at DW for technical support with this issue. Let me know how I could go about doing this. Thanks!

Hi sorry for the late reply but i think you may have just missed this part:
"Note:If you want to display just the title of the page post etc make sure to set the value as 0(zero) under Ajaxy>>general>>Search Results box>>Total words" save these settings then go to preview tab and check if its working there ,if yes then the problem may be just in finding the right class or id of the search form try using ".action.search .search-query" without quotes in field labeled as Input ID or class name in settings you may also wanna try value as 10 in Ajaxy>>general>>Search Results box>>Total words plus one more important thing under the post type search tab select the checkboxes labelled as post and page each one at a time then on hovering over them a link for "Edit Posts template & settings" will appear click on it then see a column for various settings on the right side of the newly opened page and select status as show in search and search mode as "only title" then save the settings repeat same procedure for pages as well hope this help s thank you 🙂

Well wisher, thank you so much for all of your help with this. I did actually set the value to “0” for “total words,” but it still wasn’t working. I have installed the Better Search plugin, and that for whatever reason is working perfectly. I so so appreciate you trying to help me with my technical difficulties. Thank you!

Apologies for the delay in replying to you. Regarding your issue you mentioned, I noted and found a suitable plugin named  Better Search plugin. Yes, I also test it on my demo site and it works fine with DW Minion theme. Take a look at the plugin here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=search+results+display&sort=
Hope this helps !
