I recently updated from version 1.0.0 of the Pro plugin to 1.0.7. A user asked a question this morning (available at https://www.deedclaim.com/?post_type=dwqa-question&p=1295). There are a few serious problems: 

  • The URL structure is apparently using a query string of some sort instead of the normal URL
  • The question does not appear in the Questions page or anywhere else that I can find on the site except for the one URL
  • The question states that it was asked 2019 years ago, so there is clearly an issue with timing. My response to the question shows the correct timestamp, but the question itself is way off. 

This essentially makes the plugin unusable for all practical purposes.

In the previous question we have helped you resolve the issue with the time, are you have created a backup plugin before updating it?

The plugin that I am using now is version 1.0.7. I did not update it, I just installed it. I did backup the prior plugin (version 1.0.0) before I upgraded to version 1.0.7. Since I sent the question this morning, we did make some updates today. But those updates were made after this issue was reported.

 

What do you mean by “we are using the post type?” We use the post name (https://www.deedclaim.com/sample-post/) for the permalinks in the settings. You can look around the site and see that all other pages and posts use that format. If you look at a question from before the update, you will see that it used the correct URL structure (for example, https://www.deedclaim.com/question/avoiding-probate-in-texas/). It is only since the update that the URL structure is broken.

 

When the user posted the question referenced above, it did not appear on the questions page (https://www.deedclaim.com/questions/). In fact, I can only view it when I am logged into the dashboard. It does not automatically populate to https://www.deedclaim.com/questions/.

Please disregard this question. The problem was that updating the plugin erased all of the settings. As a result, moderation was turned back on. That is why we couldn’t see the question unless we were logged in. We did not receive any e-mails or other notification that questions were waiting in the moderation queue, so it wasn’t until we happened to notice them there that we figured it out.
