Greetings from Turkey, everyone!
My name is Murat Tekmen, a professional designer with 15 years of working experience based in Istanbul, Turkey. For me, working as a designer is not just a way to earn a living, but it’s the most enjoyable thing to do in the world.
In 2001, I created a website for the game Championship Manager called cmturkey.com which at the time received a large number of visitors and attracted the attention of local press and TV stations. Since then, I have devoted all my passion to designing and strived to develop myself along the path.
My other interests, if you may ask, include social media, animals, and sports. I have many cats at home and find myself as a die-hard fan of Fenerbahce club 😉

How Vuub.net was born
The idea for vuub.net started to take shape in my head in the beginning of 2013. At that time, I found most content about social media delivered on other sites quite bland and inadequate. They were focused on making money only. Since one of my true interests lies in social media, I wanted to create a website that would focus on delivering genuine “value” in this field. And now vuub.net is one of the fastest-growing social media sites in Turkey.
Why I chose DW Focus theme
Actually, I had yet formed a clear concept in mind for vuub.net till I stumbled upon DW Focus – the responsive WordPress theme for news and magazines from DesignWall. The first time I saw it, I was attracted immediately by its impressive interface, everything started to click in as I realized this is exactly what I want for my magazine website. After I purchased the theme, DW Focus’s unique features didn’t prove me wrong. What got me really excited was the possibility of infinite customization it offers. The theme is highly flexible with 6 different Category styles accompanied by the Customize panel where most parts of the theme appearance are easily customizable.
Another reason I’m quite pleased with DW Focus theme is that the theme always gets frequent updates and DesignWall support staff responds to my requests very quickly. Based on what I’ve seen, the entire staff, especially Dominic, pour all of their energy into supporting the themes they create. For example, the first version of DW Focus is reported to be quite slow in loading but this was swiftly resolved by the team. And I might say the result is perfect.
My development experience
With DW Focus, I was able to build everything I had in mind much more quickly than I initially anticipated. The theme’s flexible design, as I mentioned earlier, have had much to do with this. In addition to that, I have professional experience in graphic design, which means it is less difficult for me to handle many aspects of the work myself. After all, I can comfortably say my development experience with DW Focus was very smooth.
There is one regret, though. I wish I had made changes only to the languages files of the theme and leave the core files untouched. That way I wouldn’t have to re-apply my changes every time there is a new update. Or creating a child theme from the beginning would be a better idea.
Lastly, on behalf of everyone at vuub.net, I would like to express our most sincere thank Jin and the entire DesignWall team for featuring us in the DW Focus site to showcase and giving us this opportunity to speak up our mind. Working with DW Focus and DesignWall team was always the right decision to me. And I am looking forward to the upcoming themes from the team.
