Thanks for the feedback of @guru, @wellwisher, @nicopagel, @askmediy on this question:

http://designwall.com/question/what-do-you-think-embed-questions-social-sharing-in-dw-questions-answers/

Currently, our plugin is almost ready to release. Let’s become the first man to use this trial version on your own website and then leave your feedback. This will help us improve the plugin with free bug fixes before releasing officially.

For further information about new features of the plugin, please read our blog here:

Great Job! Jackie.

I look at the button you use to download and have an idea. Should we provide simple typography which we can use in the content of Question & Answers like

1. Emoticon
2. Button styles (keep it very minimal)

Noted this idea, and I will discus with @rambu to make a decision about this feature. However I think we should open a another discussion about this feature soon.

Quick update about DWQA Embed Question plugin: Documentation is ready!

clean is good i suugest ,plus the dwqa plugin uses single-questions.php to view the question as post which is good but at the same time this is going to create a problem with widely used related posts plugins as i found that the single questions page pull up the related posts and show them in the question content area just like any other normal post so if there is an option to prevent showing the related posts in questions page by any other plugin(as we already have a widget for related questions) it will be great like we can choose show on pages or posts by checking check boxes but the option for single question posts was missing

replied 11 years ago

it also show the default social sharing buttons in the single questions posts but now when there is going to be inbuilt option for social sharing in dwqa itslef there is no point to show the default sharing buttons users may be using on there sites in questions page also,i have modified and created a custom sidebar for question page only to keep it as clear as possible but still related posts and social sharing buttons(default ones)are showing up on the questions pages while some plugins allow to choose to set it off in the individual pages but that can only be done from back end for each question(while most of the users may be asking questions from fromnt end itslef)

@wellwisher thanks for your feedback. Yeb the social sharing buttons will become an optional, you will be able to choose to turn on or off this feature. And about the related posts you said, can you give me the plugin link please?

@wellwisher
1. About your first comment, can you open another question and I very willing to bring you a very simple solution to resolve this issue. I want this topic focus to the release of “DWQA Embed Question” plugin.
2. “Embed question” is an add-on of DWQA, this is not build-in feature in the DW Question & Answer plugin. User only get this feature if they install the “DWQA Embed Question” plugin.

thanks for your quick response @jackie i just posted a new question asking everything related to wallpres, plus i tested the dwqa embeded plugin in local machine and the embeding feature was not working when trying from front end instead it was showing up the links to the questions while social sharing was working good,at the same time embeding the code in questions body from dashboard question editor using embed code worked fine.

I have also provided a short answer to the sharing icons problem in your separate question.

Oh there you see, the iframe embedding does not work in DWQA posts/answers or comments.

replied 11 years ago

@guru the embed feature is meant to work in answer form i suppose and not in comments as you can see by right clicking on the embed link to open it in new tab the embed is already prepared and i have pasted the same code in answer form in my answer below to demonstrate what i meant it works fine @guru (its just meant to work in answers i suppose) 🙂

Yeah, I can confirm with @wellwisher that DWQA Embed Question feature only work with Question or paste Embed code to HTML Allowed area (blog post, landing pages etc…)

Hi All!
Excellent features and glad that they are finally here! I would thank you for the brilliant idea to test it out before putting it in the alpha version. So hats off and really appreciate the invite.
I have tested these features on a number of websites, both live and tests.
The sharing features work nicely on all the sites I tested it on.
The Iframe embedding works on some website, e.g: http://www.englishbrass.co.uk/qa/
But on some websites, it shows fine but when you click on any of the links in the iframe window, rather than opening the question page, it takes you to that page within the iframe so remaining within the same webpage you can access the target page.
I will test it even further and will be back with possibly more results.

Best regards and thanx again 😀

Updates on March 18:
– Fix: issue of the tag link on reported by @guru
– Fix: issue of attaching a link to Question content
– Document has been published at: https://github.com/designwall/dwqa-embed-question/wiki
Well, if there is nothing change in plan, the plugin will be officially released next monday on WordPress.org and DesignWall. Thanks for your contribution as well as your helpful feedback.

Thanks Jackie for the feedback and putting in the improvements.

After re-installing the plugin from the Github resource, I can confirm that the links placed within the question and answer content are working abs fine.

The iframe obviously does not work in the DWQA comment areas. When tested within the question/answer and on a page within the website and on a different website. The results on one website is OK. But on the website where I mentioned problems earlier now only the counter links ([Count] ANSWERS [Count] VIEWS) are working as normal but the rest of the links in the iframe window are not opening in a new link i.e. they are opening within the small iframe window.

The shortcode for widget is working abs fine. And is a good addition.

Its just the iframe links are not rel=”_blank”. you know what I mean.

Regards

Hi @guru,
That’s a bit weird! On the updated version we publish in Github, we have fixed all the issues.
Sure that you install the latest one from Github? Because we did not release this add-on in WordPress.org, hence you cannot update it directly via Dashboard but download and copy to overwrite the old version in your website.
Meanwhile, we will investigate more.

Hi Jackie.

I know it is weird. I actually downloaded fresh copies of the plugin DWQA and DWQA Embed to see if its working.

The problem is on this subsite in a multisite website. Now I noticed that the edit question and delete question is also not working.

Hope to see this fixed soon!
