How I can translate the theme

Hello, I want th translate the theme dw-minion in the german language. So I have to copy the file en.po on my local computer and renamed this file to de.po . Then I have edit the file with the program poedit and copied back to the webserver in the same directory.
But then I don’t see the german translation. Where is the mistake?
