Rohith NuguriIs it possible for the news carousel to have images that when clicked redirect to an external site ? Its like using it to show the list of sponsors, which when clicked go to the individual websites ?

At the moment the DW Focus: News Carousel widget in the DW Focus does not yet support to display images that when clicked redirect to an external site.
However, you can try to use third party plugin like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=carousel+widget&sort=
