Paul MI just randomly visited and noticed the layout gives a much better community feel than the regular plugin layout, which would suit my website.
I would be happy to pay a premium for this, is it a possibility in the future?

DominicHey Paul, We have already updated the Demo site, let’s take a tour to have closer look. The layout on DesignWall is almost like the official plugin layout, however, there are many features made for only our site, not for the regular plugin ( such as the right sidebar, $tone ).
Regarding your requirement, we will consider, improve our plugin to meet user’s meets.
