kezko su when you say : only we and you can view the question, who are “we” ?
adminitrators only, or editers, or authors ? can we modify the access ?

The private Question is for only Admin and question author to see.
We set this as default so far, but if there is a need to edit the settings we will consider this function.
If you realize, in our Q&A site, which we are using and testing the plugin version 1.1.0 Beta, we now have the private answers within a question 🙂 It works same as private question.

Maybe by using a plugin, I can create different user types, like staff for “Technical private questions” so that they can answer these private questions. Then my question is, what is the ability to give to these persons so that they can answer one category private questions.

Yes, besides Admin, Contributor user role or higher (WordPress default user role) can also view Private Question. Any default user role who can “manage_post” can view Private questions.
Basically the idea for Private question is for users to provide credentials or personal information, like in our case, there are not many private questions.
So if you want to have staff to help with Private questions, you can consider set them as Contributor or higher level of user role.

@Dom: Agree that knowledge and information like these should be opened and sharing. However, sometime there are questions that include credentials or personal information which we think it’s best to be private. By the way, did you realize that we now have “Private answer” as well? Let me know what you think about it 🙂

No I didn’t. However I will update my Q&A today. I see your point and I’m sure for some / most sites private is better. But for me I use it as SEO tool with fresh content for more traffic of course. And so others can read the answers instead of asking me the same thing like ten times.
But the private answer gives me the option on phone numbers or emails things like that. So yeah great idea.

Totally agree that the amount of knowledge and information sharing on Q&A can be a very good content for SEO.
In our case, we encourage everyone to submit open questions, only when they want to get personal supports that involves credentials 🙂
By the way, what do you think about Anonymous Question? An option for posting question without registration or login?
