What is the process to change the system generated password?

Hello All,
Can you please help me with this? On registration, the user gets an email with the username and password, but am not sure how the user can reset the system generated password with something that he can remember? What is the process to change the system generated password?

When registration the user gets an email with the username and password. After login, user can change the password in profile.
